ALWAYS---I use alova suede mostly for making poppets. It is a little stretchy but it only has a one-way stretch. I also sometimes use craft velour. The back side is silky and the front is like, fuzzy soft ^^ Admittedly, the poppets I made with white skin came out much sturdier and easier to stuff without lumps. The skin tone poppets were a little more difficult and their limbs became extra long somehow  Huh
The most important thing about tracing poppet patterns onto fabric is to pay attention to the grain of the fabric. If you go length wise, the poppet will be long and willowy (better for girl poppets). Horizontally, the poppet will be shorter and chunkier (better for male poppets).  Cool

Just popping in to say that the alova suede can be found at JoAnn's.  They have a ton of different colors there.

Shoot! I was just in Tulsa this afternoon and could have gone to JoAnns for the alova suede. Will have to look next week after my appointment. (Spent too much time in Michael's today. Didn't want to drive across town to JoAnns. Can't believe I just said that! Too tired to craft shop? I must be ill or getting really, really old. O-o-o-ps! I did have a birthday last week; that must be the problem! Cheesy)

Happy Bday kbrison!!  You should call Joann's first and make sure that they have it in stock.  It's been a while, but I think they have it in the winter months...or at least that's when the new bolts come in.

There are two JoAnns in Tulsa, so what one doesn't have, the other usually does have. I could call them, but it's so much more fun to go to each . . . Just that many more excuses to buy, buy, buy. Makes me sound terribly greedy, doesn't it? Since I often share supplies and crafting equipment with my daughters, I look upon it as sharing their inheritance with them while I'm still alive to enjoy it! Grin

Well, when IsikkahJai said the last of the fellowship was on its way, she really meant the fellowship!!!!!  She totally surprised me!!!  First she sent a bulk pm asking what everyone wanted.  She had a list including mermaids, fairies, pirates, zombies.......elves.  I said a mermaid or fairy would be awesome, a pirate would be cool too and when I read elf I immediately thought Legolas!!  She said don't worry, I got an idea.  Soooooo.....I got my package yesterday and tore into it!  And guess what I got??  LEGOLAS!!!!!!!!!  I was so shocked!!!!  I LOVE him!!!!!

Isn't he perfect?  I love his hair!!  He has a bow too, but he seems to have misplaced it!!
Heres a closeup of his face

He is now going to hang out with sock monkey Captain Jack and sock monkey Sloth where little fingers can't reach!!!   Grin
