I have fuse box that's very visible in my hallway. Instead of covering it with a picture, which I considered doing, I just placed a frame on top of the fuse box.

Frame was $1. I then painted it to match the hallway color which is snowflake white. Hung it with wires and voila~ modern art.

I'm not sure if this belongs here in the reconstructed section but I wanted to share the idea.

Since framing the fuse box, I've began to use the cover of the fuse box to post event and movie tickets so we don't misplace them. Tickets are held up with magnets.

Hallway decor summary:
- Frame ($1) from thrift store
- 3 pack of Umbra mirrors ($5) from thrift store
- Texas license plate ($10) from Uncommon Objects in Austin, Texas

Multipurpose fuse box/notice board/modern art... love this idea! Did you already have the rest of the decoration up, or do it in one go? It looks so coordinated - great job

so simple yet it really goes with the rest of your decor!

I have tried paintings, baskets, wallpaper, etc...this is the best idea of all!  Looks like I need to find some matching paint... thanks for sharing! Cheesy

I added pieces of decoration after I framed the fuse box. Smiley I tend to only buy things that I really adore and they somehow end up coordinating rather well. It's all about presentation and spacing.

Take pics! Smiley I'd love to see how your fuse box looks afterwards.
