I have a brand new Brother 770, and my computer is a Mac.

I found some free embroidery designs online, and I downloaded it, dragged it onto the USB icon on my computer, and then checked that it was in there.   Then I ejected the flash drive and put it in my machine.

I saved it (the same design) in 2 different formats, PES and DST, the book my machine came with says several formats will work.

On my machine, I click on the USB symbol, and 2 things come up, one for each of the 2 formats.  1, the PES one comes up as a silhouette of the design (a penguin) and 2. comes up as the name of the design (dst format).

Either one, I click on it and it darkens indicating its selected.   And then?   Nothing.   I don't know what to do next to get it to use that design!  I tried pushing various buttons but none will embroider the design or go to the screen that the built-in designs have to adjust the orientation, size etc.

So what am I doing wrong and how do I get my designs from my computer onto the flash drive, and then onto the machine in a way that I can actually use them?   I followed the directions, so I'm not sure what I did wrong!

How big are the designs?   I had something similar happen and it turned out that the design was bigger than the 5"x7" that the 770 will do.

Don't call it trash...I can make something with it!!!

After you touch the one you want and it highlights it, press the little icon at the top of the screen, that loads the design into the machine and tells you what color thread to put in. Once you have the hoop loaded and in the machine, lower the presser foot and press the green button on the front of the machine to start.

Use the PES format.
