My dog Murphy needed a bed, so I headed down to Goodwill to find supplies. I happened upon a hooded panda blanket!

I also bought a plain black piece of fleece for the belly of the panda bed. The only other supplies needed were a needle and thread and a piece of foam or filling.

Here is how I made it:
(I hope these directions make sense)

Basically you make a big pillowcase for the foam. So first I took the blanket and the plain piece of fleece and pinned them right sides in. I hand stitched around 3 of the sides and halfway up the last one. Then I turned the piece right side out. Then I folded the foam in half and wedged it into the blanket/case I just made. I chose not to seal up the hole just yet, I intend to add a zipper so it can be easily removed and washed. And guess what? That's right. It's reversible.

Inspiration without application is moot.

How cute! Does he pay any attention to the panda head?

So far he hasn't touched it, although I was afraid my other dog might find it to be tasty and chew it off so I am thinking about tacking it down to one side if it becomes a problem. The hood adds a natural pocket to the bed, its really handy for toys.
