great idea, awsome tute and super cute apron! i especially love how you did the neck tie, i've never seen that style before.

now if someone could just tell me how to turn an apron pattern into a dress i'd be in heaven. i keep seeing all these really cute aprons that i would totally wear if they were dresses

I do all my own patternmaking, so I will have to look into doing something like that in the future

i've started getting into pattern altering and splicing patterns together a bit but i still have no idea how to draft a full pattern. if i found the right dress pattern with a universal-looking back i could probably make it work, but i'm sure it would still be a lot of work figuring it all out and it hasn't been high enough on my crafty priority list to sit down and do it yet.

I bought it while in college for fashion

Thanks......at that price I think I may have to see if the library has that one before I commit to buying lol. I just wish I could find a class on pattern drafting without having to enroll in fashion school. I have a feeling I'm going to end up doing a lot of things wrong or not understanding it at all if I go from a book.

Does that book use a draping method or a flat drafting method? and which method do you think works better? these are the kind of things i get lost about when i start looking into books and stuff on pattern drafting
