ok this is a practical question for all you moms out there as well as people who have given the hooded baby blankets...

are they useful?  Is it useful to have a hood on your babies blanket, or would you just recommend doing a regular baby blanket instead?  I think these blankets are very cute but I don't know if they have an pracyicality....? what do you guys think? Huh

I've made two of these hooded baby blankets for gifts. I think the first one I did in a medium-weight cotton is nice, but not really used that much with the hood--my friend says she uses it mostly just as a regular blanket.  Though she did use the hood when from time to time when her daughter was just an infant, to swaddle her up in. Once she started really moving around though, the hood was not really popular.

With that in mind for the second one however, I used a washable cotton terry-style yarn, and the now-toddler recipient loves it as a cozy after-bath wrap--- with the hood on!

good luck!

Hooded baby towels are a necessity.  I never had a hooded blanked but I can see the usefulness, maybe not need so many hats, maybe not loose so  many hats.
