So, backstory: about three years ago I was looking for a hobby. A friend sent me to Craftster and told me to browse until I saw something I wanted to do. I saw this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=132059.0 and knew what I wanted to do. Except MORE. There was no way I was making a Muppet quilt without Fraggles. Cheesy And I knew it had to have Swedish Chef, and Beaker, and Statler, and Waldorf...and all of a sudden I was on my way to this:

That's 25 Jim Henson characters from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock. Only 11 of them came out of the book Quilting with the Muppets. The rest I designed using the same technique and pictures from the web.

And the real kicker? I sewed every single one of those squares BY HAND. Because back then I still thought I was going to do handquilting. I won't tell you how often I swore while making the squares (especially the Count and his 29 *$&%&#* tiny pieces). Let's just say there's a reason this quilt sat unfinished for almost two years until I got a good machine and did the quilting in a day. Tongue

Closer-up pictures of the quilt:

Wow! That's amazing. I can't believe to stitched most of that by hand. I am way too lazy. Great job!

That is awesome! I love that you used faux fur for hair!
I don't have the patience to quilt, so I really admire your skill!

You should be proud for sticking to it over the last few years!  It looks terrific...love all of the textures...I know it was a lot of work hand piecing, but the characters turned out great!!

Now you can move on to something else...and I bet it will be even more challenging! Cheesy

Wow, you are amazing.  I can't believe you stuck through hand sewing all those squares (I would have gone crazy).

I love how you added the fraggles and Sesame street characters.  You have made a beautiful quilt.
