So I'll openly admit that I'm kind of a nerd-girl.... When I saw these action figures shoved in the closet of my teens room my first reaction was "Mine!" He wasn't going to argue with the women helping him clean the disaster in his room.

Using the picture hangers, I wouldn't hang anything too heavy on that. Coat hooks tend to get overloaded (at least around me, they do) so I try to screw them directly to a wall stud whenever possible.

Clever idea!  If they aren't strong enough for hooks, they make for interesting "art" on the walls!

As a variant, you could get a section of 1x4 or one of the decorative wooden plaques with routed edges (make your own if you can!) and paint then mount a few of these to that for a row of coathooks. This would make it easier to mount at least one point to a wall stud for strength. A coathook this large would probably need to be mounted to the studs for strength.
