Another mini book for the new year

These have been making a slow evolution over the past year.  This is my latest version.  It has hand cut copper covers and brass hinge details that are etched, patinaed, and rubbed with Renaissance wax, leather binding, and hand cut, decorated pages that are hand bound.  It is about an inch in size.





There are a lot of little details and steps in making each of these things, and I have made so many of them this past year - but they are addictive!

That is gorgeous!   The book is only 1 inch? How the heck were you able to do all the detailing on such a small scale?

It really has been an evolution since I made my first one last summer.  I wet embossed the leather for some texture and design, and chemical etched the covers and hinges, and used small jewelry rivets and teeny brads for the fasteners.  I will work on a tutorial and post that at some point, the next time I make one.
