I just sent off a couple of embroidered letter hoopla for a friend of mine who is expecting. Her baby's name will be Marley, but her last name starts with an "R" so I plan to make the rest of the letters for her first name when I get time. I figured doing the first and last initial would be a nice teaser for now Smiley

The baby's room is going to be beach themed with teal, coral, beige and brown as the color scheme. I'm making a diaper bag for this friend, so I just used some of the fabrics I got for that. (A small missing chunk won't really hurt, right?). I carefully tucked the edges of the fabric and loosely sewed a piece of felt on the back so if necessary they can be removed, ironed, and used in another sewing project. Perhaps a quilt if the mother chooses Smiley When I finish the rest of the letters, I hope to string them out on a ribbon for easy hanging. All of the hoops have different fabrics and will have different looking letters.

I also did a lot of experimenting on these because I just bought one of the "Doodle Stitches" books (and I love it). I accidentally made the R a bit small, and then needed something extra to fill in the space, so I added the Octopus (inspired by the book).

Super cute! I love the theme and color scheme. That octopus is adorable. Nice work! Smiley
