I made this carry along safari for the, "Make a Friend" swap.  I LOVE animals!   I LOVE, collect, and make toys.  I would like to go on a safari in Africa some day.  My late FIL had cut out the wooden animals.  I also make wooden animals.  I have all of his pattern books for making wooden toys and sculptures.  I made this set for an autistic boy who is keen on texture.  So, I coated the wooden animals w/a fake grass substance that I got from a make your own volcano kit my husband bought for our youngest son, for a project last year.  After the glue had dried w/the substance, I painted the animals.  Instant texture.  Then, the kit came w/a sheet of fake grass.  I sewed that down to the carry along landscape.  The water is the shiny side of a napkin, and the mounds a ridged upholstery fabric and a quilted nylon vest.  More texture.  The landscape is double sided, so the landscape can change.  I added handles to make it easy to carry.  I also made a drawstring bag for the animals to be stored in.  I'm thinking about possibly making more, and selling them.  We'll see.
