I whipped up this cowl for my aunt's birthday. She is a great knitter and loves gardening so I thought the pattern would be fun for her!

It's called the Leaving Cowl and it's available as a free download on ravelry.

I used Galileo yarn from Knit Picks which I highly recommend! It's inexpensive, the colors are really pretty and it's so soft to knit with and to wear. It's a wool/bamboo blend.

The pattern has an option for a seed stitch or a picot edge. I went with picot but it made the edge a little heavy and floppy. I might try the seed stitch band if I made this again.

Thanks for checking it out!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

Thanks, all!

Jilly, we should have another meetup soon and I'll give you a knitting lesson Smiley. I suck at crochet though - we'll need to find someone else to teach us that.

That's really beautiful, LimeRiot; I'll have to find the pattern! The yarn looks like it has a nice soft feel to it.

Nice job!

The pattern was really fun, yofi. It was simple but still interesting enough to not be boring Smiley. I finished the cowl in two nights of knitting but I stayed up late!
