I'm def in also!  I like the mix/match theme, but LOVE LOVE LOVE the doodling idea.  SheepBlue made me a doodle hoop in a previous round and it's one of my favorites!

But a 'zentangle' inspired hoop or just random doodled words, items, motifs, etc sounds like fun.

But what ever is decided, I"m def in!

I really like that idea from jexxican to further embellish on the embellish idea: not just thread.. hmmm.. safe to call that a "mixed media" hoop? So many ideas from that idea alone! different fabrics, papers, wire, buttons, beads, coins, heck, toy cars, spoons, forks.. Okay I might be getting carried away, but there could be a lot of interesting challenges involved with that...

okay, it's late and maybe this will make absolutely no sense, but i'm gonna try and get it out there and see if anybody can make heads or tails of it

what about "push the boundaries".... this could be used to pull in a lot of themes...

so from whatever subject areas your partner gives you to choose from, you select one and find a way to present it in your hoop that "pushes the boundaries" of how you'd typically expect to see that idea illustrated....

so, let's see...

it could literally "push the boundaries" of the hoop, like stumpwork crowds out over/past the edges of the hoop
or a zentagle that fills up one hoop and runs right off the side and over onto another hoop...

it could "push the boundaries" of interpretation like if someone picked music as one of their themes and their partner figured out a way to incorporate an actual musical element in their hoop; or if someone wanted a coffee-themed hoop and received one where the fabrics and fibers were actually dyed with coffee...

or "push the boundaries" of what we call embroidery... incorporate found objects, bits of quilting, paint/pigment, embroider with wire or fishing line or something else entirely.... or do traditional embroidery but on a totally non-traditional surface - cardboard or waxed paper or stretched leather ....

anyways that was a thought that kinda popped into my head that i thought could incorporate any number of themes... =) i'm not supposed to be doing any more swaps until after i get moved, but man this house is taking FOREVER to sell and i MISS you guys!   Cry i'll definitely be keeping an eye out - thinking i'll probably decide to give myself permission to play depending on when y'all start up!

and lastly yeah, this has nothing to do with anything but i found it while looking for examples and drooled on myself a little bit so i had to share..... http://www.flickriver.com/photos/dogdaisy92/1311529623/

I'm intrigued to see what this round's theme shapes up to be! I might be in if the timing is right  Wink
