We have several laying hens here. We love our girls. They're warm and fat and funny.

The girls (as the Mr calls them) live in a hen house in the winter. The house is on sort of stilts so there's a spot beneath that is clear of snow. When the girls need some fresh air they sit under there and complain about the weather "Bawk, baaa, bawk, bawk, bwaaa."

Here's one of our newest gals pecking some scratch seed from the snow. She'd much rather have grapes (they all would) but she'll settle.

It's acrylic on canvas, 6" x 12"

I never knew chickens liked grapes - how cute!  Love the acrylic rendition.

Ah ah, at first, I thought it was a photo of one of your hens!

I like the size of your canvas and the way you put the hen in it. So full of life...

Great painting.
