This is my entry for the Being Human exhibition at Funky Aardvark.

The words on the left 'page' read "The body is the book that is to be read."

It's a thought process of sorts exploring our relationship with books, and their various roles within our lives. How we sometimes are more inclined to rely on the words of others rather than our own thoughts and feelings. This piece considers our bodies as books to investigate.







The little box at the bottom is a reliquary of sorts and opens to show two book illustrations of teeth.

Incredible, Phiz! How did you get the yellow/aged look? And had to look up the word, reliquary. Thanks for teaching me a new word

Thank you! I've had some of the papers and things in this piece for years waiting for the right place for them, so some are naturally old. Some I've aged to fit in using inks and mat gel medium. I seem to be obsessed with aging things at the moment
