Hello all,

I am a novice sewer and I just wanted some feedback before I attempt to hem my very long (but favorite) yoga pants. Since they are made of a cotton/polyester/spandex mix. I have never used a zig zag foot (if that is going to be required) so I would love some tips you may have so I don't ruin my baby!

Use a ball-point needle made for knits and a narrow zig-zag.  Use the longest stitch length and reduce the pressure on your pressure foot so the fabric feeds through easily and doesn't stretch.
Or, if you're too scared to use a machine, hand hem them.

I'm a novice sewer. So I would need to use a different (zig zag?) foot to do this as well? Thanks for the help!

A zigzag foot is a sewing machine foot that has a wide hole, allowing the needle to go left and right. A regular foot has just a small hole in the centre large enough for the needle to go through. You can see a zigzag foot and a "1/4 inch seam" foot (used for quilting) on this page.

Modern machines all come with a zigzag foot as a standard accessory Cheesy
