teag- Wow, that is fantastic! I love the monster. Might have to try drawing him myself!

Isn't it amazing how having kids can help you grow? I had the same voice in my head telling me I couldn't draw, that I wasn't creative (and also that I couldn't do math). Then one day it just hit me. Of course I can't do these things if I keep telling myself I can't.

Since then, I have been proving to myself that I can do it, and I get better every time I try.

tinybits- those look good!

I don't feel ok, things are not running smooth on the work front money wise but I sat down and whipped up some pages while watching vampire diaries..

These are done very fast within 2 hours. I don't feel they are yet finished and journaling is missing but at least the collage part is down. I am glad I watched the video tutorial I posted a few pages earlier. I never thought I had what it takes to make art journals but now I feel like I can do it..

When you have such things going on, you could try to incorporate them into your journaling. It can make you create things you might never have tried otherwise.

teag - I love your monster, he's wonderful and I'm another one who might have to give that a go cos I have a voice like that inside me - only nowhere near as cute as your fear monster  Tongue

Not sure if I'm adding this update properly Undecided
To save on money I'm using a 3 ring binder that I had laying around and copy paper pages.  I am also putting my cut out applique pieces in zipper baggies for ease of use in the future.  So far I've done a Japanese inspired deer.

Mine lends itself to junk journal instead of art journal i guess. You can kick me out anytime OP. Cheesy

Reserved for my mess craftiness.

I started a book last year. I did a couple of pages and it's been collecting dust ever since this. Hopefully this CAL will motivate me to finish it.

All swaps are mailed as of this afternoon so I spent the last few hours working on pages - I think about 10 are started. I'm just looking for quotes to add and then I'll post some photos tomorrow.

Everyones pages are so inspiring!

Here are the first few finished pages. I know they are super "neat" and I hope I get a little more free and easy as I go along.

I found a dress shape on Google and I copied it in several sizes. These are tissue paper collage on cardstock and various quotes.

This is the largest size - I sprayed over it on red paper and stamped the quote inside the silhouette. Sorry for the bad photos - my apartment is dark.

These dresses are tissue paper that is gel medium-ed onto used dryer sheets (paper fabric) and I sewed the buttons on. Again, too neat looking - but I do like the dresses.

More to come...
