I am making my changes journal about ongoing changes, not about stopping things for 10 weeks (and likely failing) but about long term changes, reducing my bad habits in the hope that I can control them better.

So I remade the cover, also I keep tearing out pages which has to stop so if I mess up I will be putting in covered pages with some of my ridiculously huge paper stash.  Also I think today I will just do basic color washes on pages since it is a journal I carry with me and I can't do too much background wise on the go

New cover

I am also going to do some stuff with pockets and envelopes to keep copies of stuff I write on line and print off

i've been working on a couple other projects to i'm put my art journal aside, except for some unfinished sketches. i did come across a book that i wanted to recommend thought

"page by paige" by laura lee is a graphic novel based on a teenage girl who has moved to new york city with her family. she's shy and awkward, and used her art journal as a way to express her feelings. it's kind of a combination between journal entries and cartoon interactions . i liked it and so did my 10 year old.

-i love to try new crafts, and learn new techniques. my strength is color pencils, but i also scrapbook, stitch, crochet, bead, any excuse to head to the craft store!

Okay, I'm sorry I've been so slack about posting. I have many pages in several journals to post. I will be on vacation (tick, tock - no, I'm not counting days, I'm couinting minutes) SOOOOOON, so I will take a day to take pics and post.

I joined two online art journaling classes - one free, one not - so while much of the info is repetitive, I am the master background-maker. Just need to take the time to finish the pages once the backgrounds are done.

See you all soon!

Hello everyone  Smiley I've been creeping along the boards for a few weeks, not sure where to jump in. I looked for a.. beginners or  welcome thread but didn't find one.

Anyways, this is a really cool idea! I've actually made art journals, but I always get scared of the blank page! I seriously have tons of blank journals.

I thought of making a journal out of a huge 1917 atlas book, but I'm not sure how. The pages are pretty fragile, so I know I need to secure a few together to make one thicker page, but I'm afraid glue might tear the pages. Any advice? I may jump in this anyways with another book  Grin

Oh-h-h I just found this craftalong. How can I spend so much time on Craftster and then find new places! I hope I never find the end.

Will there be a 2014 Art Journal Along? I am just getting rolling with art journaling after sputtering along for years at journaling. I hope to sputter with more consistency.

Wonderful journals and ideas and art! I love this craftalong.

cmarion3, I was just wondering the same thing! I hope there is a 2014 version. One of my New Year's resolutions (other than the boring diet/health/exercise related ones) is to do more art journaling. I've been cleaning out my craft room and found about three that I have started... why I can't finish one is beyond me!
