So I've been sewing for basically forever, but have never really ventured beyond my zigzag and zipper feet and pretty much just use the zigzag and straight stitches.  I'm wondering if there are any good and easy to understand resources out there to help me understand when and how to change things up.

Thanks.

what a great question, I wanna know, too!  I think I have half a dozen feet in my sewing box I never use.
so I googled "how to use sewing machine foot"

http://www.singerco.com/sewing-resources/presser-feet-help has downloadable pdf files on how to use over a dozen specialty feet.

http://thesewingcorner.blogspot.com/2011/07/sewing-machine-presser-feet-cheat-sheet.html had nice pictures and identified the feet, with a brief explanation of how each one works.

http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2009/06/feet-feet-feet/ shows how to use several feet.  I would just use my regular foot for most of the specialty uses.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYyK_4VjP4g  is a video advertising a workbook and DVD explaining how to use 12 different feet.
