Joseph Had A Little Overcoat Doll

I first heard the story told on Reading Rainbow, a show that was on PBS. I fell in love with it and went to the library to check out the book for my youngsters to read it to them. It has some really fun illustrations. I usually give my dolls more realistic features, but stayed true to the original illustrations while making this doll. The character in the book is a bit stouter than my Joseph, but I like the way he turned out.

Thank you. I've only made puppets by up-cycling stuffed animals for my kids. I have thought about making marionettes.

You should definitely give it a try, the skills are very similar, from what little I know. And your expressive needle-sculpted faces and hands would be perfect for puppets.
