Ta Dah!  it is finished, blackwork is such a time suck, but ultimately worth it!



I have only used three different patterns in this piece, but have used different weight threads, they are:

DMC - coton a broder
         Stranded cotton (one and two strands)
         Machine thread
         Gossamer thread

I really like this. I think the black makes the tail pop more, simple (although I know it was far from that) and elegant.

Thank you for all your lovely comments.  When I finished this piece, I wasn't entirely happy with it.  I thought it was better than the first attempt, posted here - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=410336.msg4844514#msg4844514.  However, it has grown on me, then I got to read all of your lovely comments which gave me greater confidence in my abilities!!
