What holiday is it ? Smiley  We have one coming up too - Australia Day!

( i will be in Fiji - just giving you the heads up!!)

check out vomo island piccies on the web...

yep that'll be me on the beach Wink

Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day plus we'll also be celebrating the inauguration of President Obama as he begins his second term of office. Technically our president is sworn into office on January 20th following our national election in November. Since that fell on a Sunday this year, there was a brief ceremony at the White House at noon today. Tomorrow will be the elaborate public ceremony, parade, dinners, balls, and the President will give an Inauguration speech detailing his plans for the coming 4 years. In any case, that's why our post offices, banks, federal offices, courts, and many businesses and schools will be closed tomorrow. Sadly (from my 'I want to sleep late' perspective) my school isn't one of them. Every morning I ask myself just why it was I wanted to teach since I'm definitely not a morning person! Would much rather be home reading or crafting! Grin

I started  to make the 'thank you' gift for lillyanka last night & it's going to be a little bigger than a small!  She is such a sweetheart & a great swap partner though, so I'm glad it's working out this way Smiley

Wow~ January is flying by! I haven't been home in about a week and so haven't finished packing up the boxes for my needers yet... Looks like I need to make a point of doing that in the next day or two!  The 25th will be here before we know it Smiley  We were out shopping on the weekend and I *nearly* bought stuff to put in the packages... silly me.  I have a hard time sticking to swap expectations sometimes, apparently!

Just checking in... I've been following along, just not posting much this week... Happy Tuesday ladies!

I'm so bad at being patient! Silly International shipping.  I'm excited for my box to arrive though from ninaprettyballerina and I think I have my thank you gift sketched out and everything I need for it, so it is officially moved to the top of my crafting to do list  Smiley

I'm planning on starting on my givers thank you gift tomorrow! Cheesy I hope she likes it. I also hope my needer likes her package, it looked so tiny when I put everything I was sending together.  Sad

ah! howexciting!  i cant wait Smiley  i know international shipping takes too long.  ps the package will come with everything together.  I found i could stuff more in for my weight limit if i got rid of plastic ziplock bags etc - which weigh about 3 grams each and cardboard in stuff which weighs about 6 grams.  I literally packed your package on my electric kitchen scales.  I got in under the weight limit by 3grams!!  hahaha

I'm working on my thank you gift! It's one of those put a coat on and wait for it to dry, repeat, repeat, ect. things, so it's taking a while to get done. I hope it comes out okay, it's something I haven't done before!
