I also made a steering wheel cover for my car.  It is sort of a bag right??!   Tongue

I now live in New Mexico and it is way too stinking hot out here.  I would practically burn my hands every time I have to drive.  So I made this cute steering wheel cover.  It is double sided, with a little bit of cotton batting (almost like a heavy felt) strip down the center for some padding.

It was super easy to make.  I did not make the elastic pocket big enough and I had to rip out one seam the whole length and try again, but nothing major.  I used 1/4" flat elastic in each long edge.  The outer fabric is this super cute penguins with hats and mittens, and the back fabric is purple with white dragonflies.  It is whimsical, cute, and it protects my hands from a super hot steering wheel.  It fits pretty snug. I might add some fabric paint dots to the back fabric to help it grip the wheel better.  I am used to a smooth and slick wheel and get kinda lazy when I make turns, with this fabric cover, my hands don't slide/smooth over the wheel to let it slip (if that makes any sense).

Here are the pics:

I may not be perfect, but I'm so close it's almost eerie.

This is great!
I need one of these, it's so much cuter than the dish towel I throw over my steering wheel.
