I finally got around to putting together the tree skirt I have been carrying around for 10yrs+. I have a few more panels for things I got about the same time or within the same year.  A few vest, some more stockings, a few soft books and toys.

I use to get them really really cheap at a store were I lived before. When they wanted to get rid of the panels they would mark them down to a buck per panel. I would pick them up with the thought I would do them right away.

Well 10+years later I am finally getting around to putting a few of them together LOL.

You can read about the tree skirt here:

I have been destashing this summer - and here are a few of the projects that I made Smiley

Dino applique shirt for a 6 year old girls Dino Bday party!

Seatbelt pillows and covers for our vacation - the pillows are removable so that I can wash the covers. Made from fleece on one side and minky on the other

And teacher gifts! composition covers with a scripture embroidered. All the boys teachers participate in a Bible Study so I knew they could use this personally vs a "keep at school"

All the colors

texscrapper -- those all look so well made.  And such sweet gifts.

I got a project finished this month that actually fits a couple of the themes!  One was rainbow colors, and the other was something about how small of a scrap are you willing to keep.  So I cut up all the corduroy scraps I had into either 6" or 4" squares and threw out the rest.  And last night (this morning really) I finished binding the 6" block quilt.  I wish I could have made it look nice without hand stitching the binding, but it had to be done.  It's about 42" square all together.

I alternated the directions of the wale.  And I tried to get a light/dark checkerboard effect and mostly succeeded.

I've also sewn all the 4" blocks together for a quilt top, but that came out to just 31" square and I have no idea what to do with something so small.  I don't think corduroy is quite right for a baby blanket.

texscrapper - Whatever little girl has a dino-themed birthday party is incredibly awesome, and lucky to get such a cute t-shirt, too.

dulcet - I love the color combination in your corduroy quilt.  That's going to be really cozy.

I have a few projects of my own.  I didn't manage to post as frequently as I'd hoped, but still made some good progress.
First and foremost a pair of Dashing Mitts that will be a Christmas present for my grandfather.

The rest are little bitty things for little bitty dolls.

A tiny beanie that finished off a tiny ball of yarn I'd been saving for years.

A yellow dress:

And a blue one.  This one turned out shorter because I ran out of that color thread.  Yay!

I made another little dress, but it has disappeared somewhere into the mess of my craft area.  Oops.

LOVE that quilt. I'm such a sucker for corduroy. And squares and patchwork and quilting and those nice vibrant colours too, lol.

September Themes

20130821_141422 by AluminumDryad, on Flickr

Color:  Grey
Pattern:  Argyle
For:  Your Workplace (or School if that's more appropriate)
Challenge 1:  Remember those supplies you bought to teach yourself a new craft that are languishing unused at the bottom of your stash?   Now might be a good time to dust them off, find some instructions, and knuckle down.
Challenge 2: Use up a specific number of items from your stash.  You know what you have better than anyone else, but try for something like 1 yard of cloth, 2 skeins of yarn, 4 buttons, 8 sheets of scrapbook paper, 16 beads, etc. etc. etc.  Whatever suits your stash best, just pick a number and try your hardest.
