I never thought of crocheted bookmarks.  I might just do that this year as extras in gift bags for the holidays.  What a great way to use up those little bits of yarn!  Thank you so much for the idea!

CLM, you always make the cutest, most unique things.  My crafting feels kind of boring by comparison  Cheesy

I destashed some embroidery thread last night by crocheting a few bookmarks while watching back episodes of Dexter.  Tonight we're catching up on Under the Dome so I'll have to make some more and post pics later.

Advice Needed!

We are moving in less than 2 months, only taking what can fit into four suitcases.  Should I cart my sewing machine along or just sell it and buy a new one when we get out there?  I've wanted a new one for a while, but I'm not guaranteed to get one at a decent price right away.  If I economize and pack just right, I can fit my sewing machine in.  All opinions appreciated!

I would take it if you use it lots. Can always sell it or pass it on later

Ladybugs, embroidery floss and little bits of yarn are *perfect* for making bookmarks.  I am a very slow embroider-er and although floss doesn't take up a lot of space, it's just more that I have to unpack and sort later.  So, bookmarks!  I'm tossing them into our Saturday yard sale for now and then I might keep some as stocking stuffers Smiley

If you have room Mrs A-P then pack your machine, then you can always wait for a good deal on a new one  Smiley
I love crocheted bookmarks, looking forward to your pics.

I've done a little destashing but no pics yet. I crocheted a peaked cap for a baby boy but he's a big un and it's too small so it will be going in the charity pile. I made 2 more shirred dresses, a brown/black patterned one out of a charity shop skirt for myself and a red silky one for my sons GF.

My friend is going to be a Grandma in October so I'm going to use up some of my pink stash on a baby blanket and hat & booties and I'm planning to start a baby box for my niece who married recently, she's not expecting yet but she has her fingers crossed it won't be long  Grin

Carolmb, those are such pretty quilt blocks!  I especially love the Koi fish Smiley

I finished a few little projects.  Three bookmarks (never did get around to making more) aaaaaannnnnddd....

My very first pair of socks!

They were meant for Baby Boy due in December, but turned out unintentionally large and probably won't fit him until *next* winter.  Oh, well.  I destashed the majority of a bamboo/wool blend skein I've had in my stash for ages.  They'll keep his little toes warm eventually.  Now I just have to figure out what to do with the remnant that doesn't involve buying a matching skein.

If anyone is interested, I used this pattern: http://gingerschatz.blogspot.com/2010/07/pattern-advent-baby-socks.html

It was a little confusing and I made mods (mainly crocheting in a spiral instead of joined rounds) but I was pleased with the results.

The bookmarks:
