To me destashing isn't about getting rid of everything it's about making use of what I have to hand rather than spending money where I don't really need to.

Well said, Kookaloo! And I think it is fine to show projects, where only most of the materials are from stash, JessKelly. I would love to see your cushion cover.

Lovely yarn, Belladune! And the coloring cases, too.

T-shirt rag rug.

I still have a ton of t-shirt strips ready to be connected into yarn, and still a bunch of shirts to be cut up.

Baby blanket.

Hey all! I realized I haven't posted anything in a long time, but I've been quietly lurking and loving everything! I finished a huge amount of crafting and destashing this last month but have taken the last week off. Somehow, prepping for the craft fair requires a craft-haiatus afterward.... Ah well. I will post some pics tomorrow Cheesy

Keep up the fantastic work!

Speaking of not having posted in a while...

I'm not dead!  April has been quite a month, with lots of projects that aren't craft related and very little internet access.  But I've made some progress...if just a bit.

Exhibit 1 - yet another giant granny square.

Subdued Square by AluminumDryad, on Flickr

Exhibit 2 - a variation on the wingspan shawl that's a bit more scarf-like.  This may end up being frogged eventually, but for now I'm going to bask in the feeling of getting something done.

I'll go ahead and post the May themes and then go back and see what I've missed.  I hope I can be here more often next month.

May Themes

Berlin -- knitting for soldiers  (LOC) by The Library of Congress, on Flickr

Color:  Yellow
Pattern:  Stripes
For:  Teachers
Challenge 1:  Is there a craft your mom, grandmother, great-aunt or the like taught you when you were very little but you haven't tried in ages?  If the supplies are in your stash, give it a try again.  You'll be amazed at what your fingers remember.
Challenge 2:  Concentrate on the material that makes up the largest portion of your stash, be it yarn, seed beads, or whatever.

bananaleg--love all three projects!  That rug looks squishy-soft.  And the hat!

guadiknight--maybe I would get more crafting done if I had "very little internet access!"  And don't frog the scarf!  Mother's day is coming up--you don't have to give it to your own mother, maybe just some one who is a mother who you admire.  Or you could always save it and have it on hand for any last minute gift needs.

I have boxes of vintage piano music.  Some as old as 1890's!  PM me if you'd like some!
