Dotees are mini art dolls, apparently they got their name from the woman who first created them a shortened form of Dorothy.

I love making them  Smiley

Started making this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/juliana-wrap tonight using up my odds and ends of red DK. I don't know why I have so much red in my stash as I rarely wear it  Huh

Ah thank you! I thought it was something like that. And that wrap is so pretty I had to add it to my library Smiley. I don't think I have any red in my stash, but I do have a crazy ton of purple for some reason. Maybe I should bust through it soon ...

So I make my daughters Easter dresses every year, but this year I decided to go with skirts.  I decided to use up some of the medium sized scraps I have by making them a little scrappy.  I thought they would be simple since they're just rectangles and triangles.  But once again I proved to myself that I really work better from a pattern.  I do think that they turned out super cute, after some frustration.  And they are totally from stash.  I'm particularly pleased that I used up every possibly usable bit of the red poppies--a couple of those panels were pieced together, but you can only tell if you know to look.

Dulcet, those skirts are lovely!
I'm glad I didn't take the craft supply diet pledge, because I just had the craft equivalent of a weekend long bender.  Cheesy  Craft store, hardware store, thrift store...But I did buy stuff to help me use up stash.
I made 17 key brooches earlier, and I have about 30 more in the works, to use up my stash of keys. Going to try to get them finished tomorrow, so I can get back to the rayguns.

Sooooo... It kind of counts as destashing, but kinda not... That's the down side to creating a usable product.... However, I'm a few scoops lighter in my dyes, and have converted about 6oz of fibre into yarn. (well more then that but i've not got pics of some of it yet.  i've got finish the one I have started before I do a big twist setting session - it saves water to do it in a big batch)
The yarns:

The results of my Dye day. Everything started off white! (as white as wool gets, anyway Smiley )

The intermediate step from fibre to yarn:

Feels good to be spinning for the sake of it. Now just to use it up into something pretty.  I'm thinking toques.

Belladune' I love that yarn! Im always impressed by those who spin. I want to do it one day but it think my husband will say "too many crafts!" lol

And I love the scrapy skirts! So beautiful! I may steal that idea. They look like they are twirling even when standing still.

Thanks!  CLM, I like the mucky work! Well, sort of. I do enjoy seeing it go from some ugly to shiny and lustrous. Then to batts and then to yarn and then to something wearable.

I love this skirts too.  I have a small stash of fabric that needs to be turned into clothes.... If only I could find my surfaces in my craft room...Undecided
