I have a 1.5 yard strand of the camo yarn left which was not enough to do the last row of this hat which I had to edge in black. I'm happy to have used it all up and hubby is happy to have another hat.

I've run into another problem with de-stashing.  Along with my weakness for purchasing pretty varigated yarn  Roll Eyes, I've been gifted by TWO people the very lovely gift of yarn!

I've been crocheting scarves at the rate of several per week, but then the yarn supply has been replenished, erasing all the de-stashing I did!  Undecided

But think of it this way. Your stash didn't get bigger.

I've been crocheting and will post, don't have that much yarn, and I should be destashing fabric but life is seriously getting in the way.

Thanks RLB, its about the fifth version of a camo & stripe hat I've made for hubby now. I think other people must like them as well because whenever he's left one anywhere no one has ever given it back!  Roll Eyes

This one is for me  Smiley

January Results
Last month destashing didn't turn out quite as successful as I hoped, but I decided I post an overview of my few results following the themes given for January.

Color:  white
Pattern: dots

Nothing in my stash matched these themes.
For: resolutions
My biggest (crafting) resolution this year is not to buy new fabric before I cut down my stash to two shelves. (Or if I decide that I absolutely have to buy new fabric I have to use it within two weeks.)
I made this stroller sleeping bag almost completely from stash. I just had to buy matching zippers.

Challenge 1:  It is time once again to take stock of your stash.  This means finding it all, seeing what you have, and identifying some goals for DeStashing in the coming year.
Here are pics of my current stash:

plus some smaller scraps all around the craft room. The orange box in the first picture shows the shelves that I assigned to my fabric stash. So I need to get rid of all those bags and boxes. The fabric is creeping towards my math books and who knows what kind of evolution that might start Wink
Challenge 2:  Are there any other craftalongs that will help you with your goals this year?  If so, join up and spread the love around.
I joined the 13 Quilt projects and the 12 crafty things for Me along.

Ugh! I bought 7 patterns at the local church thrift store yesterday (I like donating to them better than Goodwill or Salvation Army because they resell the stuff a lot cheaper and they also run a food pantry with the proceeds). When I dropped to bags of clothes off, a volunteer saw me with the patterns and said she would hold some fabric for me when it comes in, then another volunteer came up and said that there was a lot of yarn in a box in back... I told him that I was getting rid of yarn, that's what my big envelope was full of (I was on the way to the P.O. next to mail a friend some knitting needles and yarn) because I don't knit anymore. The first volunteer said that I should donate my yarn to the senior center and the second one said that they're holding a knitting night at the church soon and that I should come because I knit... Sigh... I said I would drop some of my other yarn off that I don't need (it will give me an excuse to go through my stash again and pare down even more), but I forgot to tell to her not to hold the fabric for me, that I'm trying to get rid of that, too... Now I feel guilty and will probably go in and buy fabric that I don't need...
At least I only spent $.70 on the patterns and I did get rid of about 5 or 6 sets of knitting needles & two skeins of yarn.
I am pretty upset that I didn't make anything that followed the theme last month, but I vow to do better this month!
