People feel the same way about books, and I have 2 sets of encylopedias so I believe I will start covering a lot of boxes for storage.  Only problem is mod podge which is so expensive. Any tips?

There are lots and lots of recipes online for homemade mod podge. I've never made any, but I have friends who swear by it. This is the recipe that my friend uses :

Mod Podge in a Pint Jar

Fill jar half way up with white glue (like Elmers)
Then fill jar up with water.
Shake Well.

This is a 50-50 mixture glue/water.

It will have a Matte finish.
If you would like a Glossy finish, add 1 TBS of clear varnish.
Shake it!

The shirts and the doll clothing are cute!  Nothing like working your stash...great job, CLM!

(I love the cloth doll, btw---I especially love the hair!)

I managed to fill six boxes of old books--I only have two shelves left in my bookcases that hubby allotted to me--with 8 more boxes of books to go through (plus the ones I stashed in the trunk of my car... Cheesy)...I think I can let go of most of the gardening ones...and the cleaning ones...and the summer novels...

I saw a picture of part of surreal's crafting room: great idea--she used some skinny candle holders to hold her various duct tapes!

I'm jumping into this one! I am also in the 2013 50 projects craft-along, and I think this will compliment it nicely. I am trying to use as much as my stash in crafting as possible and purchase as little new stuff as possible this year. (Course I blew that by buying a bunch of fabric at the thrift store last week)  Roll Eyes

Among those goals, I'd also like to organize my stash by the end of winter (right now it's everwhere, but mostly in the basement).

Here's hoping I can accomplish some of those goals! Smiley

Thrift store fabric totally doesn't count.  That fabric had to be from someone's stash at some point, therefore you're just helping someone else bust their stash.   Wink

Here is the purse that I made destashing yarn, fabric, interfacing, snaps, hooks, loops, etc...
I bought absolutely nothing to finish this project!

It is also towards a resolution, I am always unorganized at my meetings, and this should help me out. I made it so that it has pockets for my note-taker and folders.

I love it! I used it today and got so many compliments!

All I can say is WOW!  That is one of the best looking yarn purses I have ever seen...it must have taken forever...your stitching and sewing are beautifully done!  And, all from stash...

I found out that the pages from the book that got sacrificed at my last party (birthday girl is a Jane Austin fan and hates Sense ans Sensibility and sea monsters...so i gifted it to her ...lol)  fit those 5x5" stretched printed canvases perfectly and 2 of them will cover the slick surface and give me a surface to work with.
So that is at least 60 sheets of paper from the book destashed!

I've been watching this thread, and I think I'm ready to commit now.  My goal is to finish a UFO each month.  So far I'm ahead, because I've finished two in the last week!  But it seems that I'm working backwards, and finishing the most recent UFO's first.  But I guess that's how they're stacked in the piles in my space.  I'll dig my way through to the oldest!

I'll post pictures soon.

I have boxes of vintage piano music.  Some as old as 1890's!  PM me if you'd like some!
