2013 Annual DeStash-Along

You must have been reading my mind. I started on the MASSIVE clean up. I have a 2 br house, and one br, living room and dining room are overflowing.

I started this month on the craftalong for the year based on weather, moods and other things. If it isn't linked I will come back and do so.

Lots of things are so small and varied, but as for all the small fabrics, will be trying to do an art doll each month. Have 2 this month for the Junker Jane swap. Finally got that one started, and documented my mood for craft along.

I have also started a large Dell computer box with craft materials to donate, and I want to fill one of these up each month. That should get me through the year.

Today is to start cutting fabric and by cleaning I found my good fabric scissors.

Wow,  I totally just skimmed the challenges when I first joined; went back and reread them now and want to do all of them RIGHT NOW!  Between this and the 50 Projects in 2013, I've already got enough inspiration for about 6 months of crafting time!

WOW that is some destashing you intend to do! Last year I donated 7 loads of fabric and craft books to the charity shop where I do most of my clothes shopping and it didn't make much difference to my useable stash. Sad to say after I donated my pattern mags and books my external drive where I had all my patterns backed up died and left me bereft!!

Keeping track of the money I spend on supplies this year also seems like it will be a really helpful idea.  And it gives me an excuse to use one of the blank books from my horde.

rottenlittleboys I put two challenges for each month up this year so people could have more to choose from.  If a supply diet doesn't work for you, feel free to ignore those of us crazy enough to give it a try.

I think if I can be accountable, I will use more of my stash...

One of my goals for this craftalong is that if I don't make something with stuff I have saved, then maybe it needs to go away....

I actually threw my 2012 calendars into recycling today...I have so many that I have been "saving"...enough is enough!!

I was gonna be in last year but I totally lost the link (and couldn't for the life of me remember how I got here!) so I've already pinned this page in order for me to participate!
Now I just need to bring my whole stash to my dorm with me......I feel like my roommate won't like me very much this semester.

I totally need to do this for 2013. I have been wanting to do some serious destashing for the past two years and have increased instead...opps

Ohhhh! Too much stuff! (Clutches head and moans pitifully. This will be more convincing tomorrow when the emoticons lose their cheery party hats.) It doesn't even help to know that my overwhelming hoard (let's not bother with euphemisms) isn't even particularly unusual. It's still got to be dealt with, somehow. This destash-along offers a ray of hope, so I'm going to join in.

I like the list of challenges, and the way they start out very gently and get harder. Starting with a fearless inventory is perfect - it has a kind of 12-Step sort of inevitability to it.

And as an example of what I'm up against, I got another one of those multi-drawer plastic storage units about three months ago (this would be my fourth), but it's still sitting outside the garage because I don't have room to bring it inside so it can be put to use!
