Made myself a new pincushion yesterday http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=418274.msg5035412#msg5035412 It was a doll body that went wrong and I didn't want to just toss it away. The jar is usable still.

Todays crafting has been hit & miss. I made good progress on a swap item but my sudden bright idea to make shapewear didn't work out as well  Undecided I had a piece of powernet in my stash so I thought I could make some panties with tummy control. I don't think I made the powernet front small enough to make the best use of the hold-it-all-in power. I guess I can unpick the stitching and recut the piece smaller but it just feels like failure and I don't want to wear failure panties  Roll Eyes

I have not sewn since before the baby was born, over a year now. But finally he will play nicely at my feet while I sew, so I have gotten a few things done. My MIL gave me her entire quilting stash and I am slowly but surely finishing the tops on some of them. Some are going to be hippie dresses.

The pirate hat was wonderful and it was a great first project for the NERDS Games!

I also like the pineapple hat...dulcet, there is a chart I believe on the Martha Stewart website that lits typical hat sizes...I use it all the time for those "mystery" hats I knit or crochet and don't have a real head for a model! Grin

K-Star--love your panties! ha...let me know if you work out your homemade spanx...I have tons of that powernet and I still can't figure out how to sew it so it works properly!

I joined the sweat shop swap and I am plowing through a ton of cotton yarn this weekend by making cotton slouchy beanies. Smiley

I am soo far behind! Everyone is making such great stuff. I haven't been crafting much, but my kiddo just asked me to paint a couple of water pistols she can wear this weekend with a Lara Croft costume at a convention.

Kookaloo, nice recovery on the failed doll body Cheesy.
Smileyyogini terrific hats all around!
Bookstorebabe, I'll be watching to see how the water squirter paint job works out, I have to do that for a space girl costume for this halloween. I just bought some spikey silver bracelets for that today, funny how I'm thinking October in May!
Misskohaku I love those star beads, those are terrific.

Here's my latest destash binge:

Mending including a total recon on that brown Old Navy dress. It was XL and I am S so it had to be completely taken apart and reassembled.

2 pairs of yoga pants for my small girl from XL men's tshirts from the thrift store and a bit of ribbing.

This is my FAVOURITE kid's book, I just LOVE it so much. When I saw this fabric version I bought it even though my kids are too old for a baby book. Now a friend's expecting though so I finally finished it and will send it off to her with some other baby things I've made over the years.

These mats have 2 layers of insulbrite in them so they'll work for ironing on but also, and more importantly, to put hot jars on when I'm doing canning. I burned the heck out of a couple of wood tables last fall, those jars are HOT!

(why is this photo upside down photobucket? Angry)

Check out the fabric, those windmills are super cute.

Laundry bag from the most excellent fabric.

I'm pretty sure I found this stuff at the thrift store, can you believe it? It's heavy canvas too.

I had a box full of pockets from pants I cut up for projects (because you know I can't throw anything away!). I've made 2 of these before (that still need bindings, ha ha! I'm working on them too) and this time I had enough pockets for 3 so there will be more to show you eventually. I adore these things and certainly don't need 5 of them but I can't see myself giving them away or selling them so they're going to become our new wallpaper, ha ha.

My mom keeps finding these fabric globe balls at the thrift store and buying them so when I found this piece of fabric I had to get it as a joke. It's neat though, makes an interesting quilt back.

AND THAT'S NOT ALL!!! I have 2 tshirt quilts nearly finished, 3 yoga mat bags, a box of sock monkeys, some more mending, bunches of cloth bags that just need finishing, etc etc etc. When I binge, I Binge!
