Congratulations!  You should be proud!  What is the library/you planning to do with the monsters, once they are done with the display?

CLM--you are too awesome!  I loved the little bunnies, but I love that you use items that would be tossed...denim, old sweaters, etc.  Congrats...is the full article available for reading?

Ah, thanks guys Smiley. The monsters were on display for the month of April, Earth Month. Now they are all at home in a giant sack waiting for me to figure out how to send them on to new homes, lol. They're about to be joined by these guys

The article isn't online so far as I know, our local paper is very small. Well, our town is very small so that makes sense, ha!

CLM--you are amazing!  wow...do you just do them on the fly or do you sketch out first?  How do you crank out so many...almost industrial style, yet each one is so unique!  I want to send all my sweaters to you... Grin

OMG I just re-discovered this De Stash-Along. Signed up back in January and then my life went to (_____ insert word of choice here). Sick mom that needed some daughtering...shes much better now, home improvement projects with deadlines. Whew.

We did get the new craft room finished and rather than de-stashing I re-stashed. I think I ended up with more as I gathered all the stashed into one room and they mated. But my goal is to "not buy anything new" for all the upcoming projects.

I have made some great items out of my stash!

A tshirt wrap skirt...three tshirts down!

Soft frisbees from old acrylic yarn - icky stuff that makes great frisbees. These really eat up my stash of yarn bits and pieces. I do multi-colored ones as well, just add in a new color when I run out or feel like it.

And more to come.

I was just looking at your soft throwing discs yesterday!!!  What a tremendous project for the summer...they are just the right project to keep a yarnie busy without getting too hot or bored!

Too cute!

I LOVE that skirt! Did you do some bleaching for the designs? They look fab.
I've always wanted to try that awesome tshirt skirt tutorial on here, the one made out of squares, but I didn't have big enough pieces left over after cutting up for those quilts I made.

And I wanted a sort of colour scheme that didn't match what I had. Sort of what the OP used, I liked the look of hers very much. That would mean actually going out and buying more tshirts though and I've vowed not to add to the stash until I've cleared everything else away. This is a VERY hard promise to keep!
This tutorial would work well with tshirt scraps too, I like the ruffly bit at the bottom.

I think it would fit better made of knit rather than woven fabric because it would stretch over the hips well. That's a problem I have with most wrap around skirts, my hips and waist are nowhere near the same size and the typical wrap skirt doesn't allow for much difference at all.
