Would anyone be interested in a craft along centered on making a purse?  We could choose a pattern or a type (hobo, messenger, etc. etc.) and then see what everyone comes up with.

Thoughts?  Interest?

Possibly, it would depend on the pattern since I don't trust myself to try anything to complicated sewing wise.

We could choose a pattern that's customizable - so those who want more of a challenge can add zippers, pockets, etc., and those who don't don't need to put them in.  Smiley

Okay, YAY!  That's three of us.  WOO.

Do we want to do just any sort of purse, depending on our preference or all the same purse?  Thoughts?  I'll also put up a thread in the craftalongs board once we figure this all out.

maybe we can decide on a type of bag like you suggested (messenger, hobo, etc) but each one can decide on what exact pattern themselves.. or any bag but it should have a certain feature .. ie pleats or something..

just a suggestion.. I'm up for anything..

I would be up for this, if there is still interest.
I have been thinking I might like to make this bag: http://sdmikke.blogspot.com/2009/03/pleated-purse-pattern.html.  I used the pattern once for a swap:

and now I think I would like to make one for myself (in non-skull fabric  Wink).

I'd be in for this as well - are we looking for a free pattern or to buy a pattern?

I would love to do an Amy Butler bag - a larger one like the Cosmo bag or any of the sling type bags

I think a free pattern would be best.

Since it seems like there's varying 'wants' in a bag ... what do we think about just having a Craft Any Pursealong?  We could each choose which purse/bag we wanted to make ourselves and then have the craftalong for moral support and oohing and aahing.  Or does that defeat the purpose of a craftalong?

I think so, too.  Okay, since I am all about procrastinating what I need to do in RL right now, I will go put up a craftalong in the craftalongs section!   Be back soon with the link!
