made for my midterm project ^^ .. but haven't had time to take pictures T__T ..






I used the disc cutter for (4) perfect circles, and then the dapping block (several times) to make domes for a sphere ~
for earth, I first did a practice piece in brass, then moved into silver (drawing the continents on, then cutting them all out and soldering the 2 pieces together)

for saturn, I had no design idea and had 3 domes ready to cut out and didn't like any of them T_T so they were all thrown out, and I ended up with this simple idea ~ the orb is cut out of silver and big enough to come out of the socket, but too small to fall out entirely


dapping is a tedious process, but i think it's really fun ~

These are beautiful. I'm really impressed with the continent cutouts on the Earth. Looks like it was probably squinty work.
