Finished the second one with a 4" tail left from the skein  Smiley I'd call that good value, two hats for £3.09

Another for myself  Smiley Purely Puffs again in bluemint & lime - I love it  Grin I did the sc edging using the same 8mm hook that I made the main body of the hat with and it came out fitting fine. I'm now thinking of going back and doing the pink/purple one again using the bigger hook.

Oh kookaloo, love your hats, you are so prolific. I tried to do a man hat but my husby says no thank you. He has one winter hat, a neutral grey beanie.

Kookaloo, I can't believe how quickly you can knock out a hat! It always takes me much longer than the pattern says Sad

I just finished up the "Perfect Crocheted Beanie," and I used some fun fur to make make it. I thought it was coming out a little bit big, so I eliminated 2 rounds...I crochet pretty tightly, so I was surprised because I usually have to add rounds to get things up to the proper size! I have to get ready for work tomorrow, so I'll have to post a picture later.

Here is a bad shot of my "rain hat"--hubby says it makes me look like a homeless person, but I don't care--it is comfy, big, and has a brim to keep the snow and rain of winter off my face!  And, it is red, my favorite color.

I'll try to get a better picture when the weather clears up (I hate snow!)...and when I am not wearing it...one of you put up the pattern, so I will get that, too... Cheesy

Ooh, love the rain hat.... I don't care either... We're all mad hatters here lol!

I may need to frog the white hat... I don't have any white to do the cable hat from the same Web page, and my only white sweater is cables.... Hrmmm... the nearest craft store only has red heart and scratchy wool. The nearest yarn store should be open now.... But I'm supposed to be destashing. Does anyone know if youcan bring crochet stuff on the plane? I heard you can't bring metal. All of mine are metal, so Maybe I should buy a wood needle, maybe pick up some white while I am there... while there.

I always carry my knitting and crochet needles on the plane...never had an issue...but just in case, carry a small self-addressed and stamped envelope to return it to yourself Smiley  I prefer metal then plastic hooks...bamboo hooks seem to have some tooth that hangs on to the yarn and slows me down...I hate the drag...

Love the red rain hat! And, if you're of a certain age, you can claim you're a member of the Red Hat Society and get away with wearing a slightly kooky hat!

I haven't had any trouble with my aluminum crochet hooks on the plane. I haven't tried any of the small steel ones, so I'd stick with something that doesn't look too poke-y. I also make sure that I have a pair of safety scissors (little kid ones with the rounded tips) so I don't lose my favorite pair.

Thanks for the tips. I love my aluminum too. The wood was nice, but expensive. I had one and snapped it. I don't like drag either.

ha ha I definitely fit into the red hat age bracket! Cheesy

I found the cutest newsboy crochet cap that I want to make next...in red---for some reason, I have about six skeins of it...it must have been on sale somewhere...
