This past Saturday, I went over to Darien to check out that tea room, and of course, the yarn Wink  The store offers a very nice afternoon tea.  (One of the tea offerings was "knitter's chai"  Cheesy )  And there were some very interesting yarns (although there were a couple of skeins of Red Heart that looked... out of place).  Also, all sorts of pretty buttons, and some knitting needles, crochet hooks, etc.

One of the owners told me that they've started doing a "knitters' tea" once a month.  But it just does not seem worth the money.  Apparently, you get a petit afternoon tea (normally $11.95), and Joan, who runs the knit nook, is around to answer questions and stuff, or you can just sit and knit... but this costs $40.  If you don't need an expert's help, you're a lot better off going on some other afternoon, having tea, and knitting on your own.

Still, with so many yarn stores closing, it's good to see a new option available.

the one in cromwell is nice- actually has a decent yarn selection - for joanns. I don't think I've ever been to the one in manchester...

I got an email from Janet that she is closing her shop. Right now things are 20% off, her closing date is March 31st. She is also selling displays.

She had mentionned to me last summer that she was hoping to sell the business; I guess she did not find a buyer.
