I started this quilt 2 summers ago, but my sewing machine broke before Christmas and I didn't get it back til after. So it ended up in the dreaded UFO pile and I brought it out again this fall and managed to finish it for boxing day. The back is white flannel and I did the border in white flannel too, since I couldn't find the plain white cotton I had set aside. I really hated doing the borders in the flannel and don't recommend it. I just did freestyle quilting in the presents and colored borders. The corners are machine embroidered.

This is a great quilt.  I guess I can start finishing the quilt I started in October.  I challenged my friend and I to make a quilt by the end of the year.  I got all my pieces cut now just to sew the blocks together.

Very cute and colorful.  My 3yo son looked at it over my shoulder and said he wants one like it.  :-)

I've got a handful of vintage patterns up for trade/swap (1950s/60s): Monograms, embellished bags, men's robe, lace work, spats/bags, bell bottom, mod dress.  PM if interested.

This is a lovely quilt. It's so bright, colorful, and happy! You did a nice job choosing fun fabrics - way to go!

This is awesome!  It says Christmas, but doesn't scream it, ya know?  Ah, so many things I'd love to make, but no time to make them!

Great quilt, I love all of the presents all over.

I'm curious about something you pointed out about the backing.

I am trying to quilt my first quilt that I have backed with flannel. But oh boy, that stuff shifts like crazy. Is that what was happening with yours?
