A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... I decided it would be a great idea to make our son's nursery Star Wars themed. Never mind the fact that there are very few Lucasfilm products aimed at the infant set! So I ended up making a lot of the things I had in mind. This being Craftster, I'll focus on the DIY goodies.

On the recliner is my R2D2 quilt, as well as a Boppy cover that I made.

The toybox was woodburned by my sister and brother-in-law, using the art of James Hance as inspiration.

The bunting on the wall behind the crib is made out of felt, and you can read more about how I repurposed the mobile in this Craftster post. I also made the crib skirt, which you can't see too well but isn't anything special.

My husband helped me with the wiring on the lightsaber lamp. It's made out of one of the 'spares' from his collection, and some cheap IKEA lamp parts.

I also designed the two little pieces of text art in the center here. The two much nicer pieces are from James Hance.

The biggest DIY project in the room is the fiber optic starfield ceiling. I can't claim too much credit on this one -- I found the idea on Pinterest, but my husband executed 90% of it because I couldn't crawl around the attic in my delicate condition. Here is a video of it in action. I also made the roman shade, using fabric from Spoonflower.

And used the same fabric for closet curtains...

... and an upholstered cardboard initial.

This paper lantern mobile was inspired by some others that I found on Pinterest and Etsy.

Hope you enjoyed our geeky little nursery! Thanks for looking  Smiley There are lots more pictures on my flickr and my blog if you're interested.

I Love it, wish I could go back in time and redo ours. Love how you picked a theme and made it all instead of choosing from what was available.

Roll Eyes Ummmm, will you come to my house and redo MY bedroom like that? we can wait until my husband deploys in the summer so he won't know about it ahead of time. Smiley

This is SO awesome. Also, that trash can in the curtain closet has high R2D2 painting potential.

This rocks! I really hope your kid turns out to appreciate just how amazing his nursery is! (And I hope that you continue the theme as he grows up - although most of that stuff would do just as well for a teen as a baby... possibly not the crib...).

Holy cow! I love this! The entire thing is amazing, but I am especially in love with the R2-D2 quilt. I would just plop down on the floor with that quilt and stare up at the ceiling- so peaceful!

And, I bought a piece of artwork for my brother by James Hance. If he isn't going to hang it up, I'm stealing it back!

Wow that is incredible, I love all the details you put into it.  We never managed to get our nursery decorated, so I am always in awe of people who not only get it done, but do it to such an incredibly high level.

Your child is destined for greatness. What a lucky little guy!

I almost want to have another baby just so I can copy your nursery. Almost.

My favorite thing (it's hard to choose) is probably the set of paper lanterns. Those are cool!
