Ok...confession... I got jealous that the first two times I got claimed was for Nell! I know, I know, bad mama. You guys are just such awesome crafters that I wanted something for me! I'm putting Ns back on my list though since it really lights up her face to get stuff in the mail.

Heehee, isn't it so cute how excited the kiddos are to be remembered.  Most of the goodies I want are for Lana.  It really thrills me to see her so happy.  The funniest thing to me is that I talk about all of you so much that as soon as I mention who made something like Monica, she'll say, "Oh Babalina58 made that for me"?

Lovely N wall.
I have had to add duplicates onto my swap wish lists, so that my daughter gets her own set of items I have received.  She likes to takeover my received items before I can use them.

Still working away on Lo{ve}'s forks............apparently I got a couple of easy ones to start with!  I have four completed and now have about fourteen in the scrap heap!  Grin  I've learned that all forks are not created equal.  Those that are easiest to work with are also most likely to snap off when you are shaping them.  Good quality ones don't hang around thrift stores very long.  I've also learned that the bench grinder WILL eat your fork if you are not careful - sucks it right up on the polish side but sends it flying across the room on the grind side - such a finicky little tool!  I started with a mallet, pliers, vise, and the bench grinder.  I've since added a heat gun, drill press, polishing compound and make shift 'fork mandrel' to the mix.  I'm learning quite a bit as I go and I am determined to have these babies out the door on Monday.......uh, maybe Tuesday!  I'm having lots of fun figuring these out.

My towels for Lo{ve} will be a little late Sad I made them and went to attach the snaps only to find that the set screw was missing on my snap press. Thats the little screw that holds the top die into place  Shocked
Luckily, the company is sending a new one and it should be here today or tomorrow. That's what I get for asking my twins to help me clean up the craft room - I guess they are a bit too thourough. All I can deduce is that when they moved the press for me, the screw fell out. It mjust have gotten swept up and tossed Sad

In other news, I just spent a weekend on retreat for work with 14 5th & 6th graders. My batteries are DRAINED! My fave quote of the weekend though had to be on the way home. One of the girls said "When my kids come on retreat, can I chaperone? I mean, I know you'll be an old lady then, but you will still be doing Pre Teen retreat right? I don't want them to miss anything"

LOL - I just smiled at this precious 12 year old and said - "Of course"  Grin

glass kicker and texscrapper, thanks for working so hard to make me awesome goodies, you ladies rock!

i sent out some hand carved stamps to plaidpineapple today! they were the first detailed stamps i've carved in a while and they took so much longer than i expected! good news, they are my favorite stamps i've ever made! bad news, i managed to slip on the last stamp i was working on and i sliced my finger right under my nail, it's such an odd place to cut and it feels so weird! i wanted to make a few more stamps but i had to stop at that! but they're so cute and that's what matters!  Cheesy Cheesy
