I can't wait to see #14--I have a rather large supply of realistic fruit and veggie fabrics...I have a hexagon ongoing project using some of them, but I want a few fast and easy projects as well...

So, both my parents are turning 65 within the next year, so I decided to make them a quilt as a joint gift. Because I'm insane, I decided it was going to be a queen-sized one-block wonder quilt. I've never made one of these before and wanted to try. It'll have four panels. I just finished the first one and needed to share it somewhere, so here you go:

Now on to the next three panels...

This main pic is crum-diddly, but this is another one to cross off my list (and I have another to add. sigh.) One of my mom's co-workers is having a baby, so one of the women there (who doesn't quilt, but is very artsy) designed a quilt, bought the fabrics and other supplies, and got everyone else in the office to embroider a block for the quilt. All I did was actually sew the top together and quilt and bind it, it was kind of weird working to someone else's specifications, but I'm glad it's done now and I think it turned out cute (not that you can really tell from the crappy pic I took!)

One idea I have is to either modgepodge them onto 6" canvas or frame them. The kitchen doesn't get that dirty or splattered where I want to put em, its not near the stove. I have hung Christmas lites and strands of lit grapes around the pass thru where our dishes/silver/storage containers are, but they always burn out and look bad hanging unlit. Another idea would be to put a string of lights behind the modgepoge canvas and if the lites die, the fabric canvas will hide them.
