I usually use a high quality all purpose thread for everything. Piecing and quilting. I'm making quilts to be used, dragged around, made into forts and  slopped on and loved. Not heirloom quality showpieces.

Here it is. The quilt that took me forever to quilt despite the fact that it is only 34" by 34".

So I crossed of 2 things and adding like 4 things to my list. Argh! I have two quilts that just need binding, so I'm getting there! Annnd just this second realized I didn't have the "big brother" quilt listed for sweets4ever's first son.
