Quick question before I commit here ... Does it have to be a bed quilt or anything quilted ie. table runner, wall hanging etc?

I think last year we included quilted projects of all kinds: wall hangings, placemats, etc.  The only rule was that they had to be quilted, not just a blanket or regular placemat or mug rug...some sort of layering and quilting...

Come play with us!  It is so fun to see all of the quilts and it does make you want to get your own projects done! Cheesy

Yep, like Alwaysinmyroom said, anything quilted! The first year I had it as "quilts" but then changed it to "quilt projects" because that seems more doable. You can pick any number you like, it's just a nice way to challenge yourself and chit-chat throughout the year with other quilters. We'd love to have you join us!

So I am relatively new to quilting. I've sewn off and on as long as I can remember and somehow it wasn't until recently I was bitten by the quilting bug. I figure this thread will keep me on track and commit to my commitments! I also have boatloads of scraps I need to thin out so I hope to really bust those out!

1. Quilted t-shirt tote for mom (this was supposed to be a Christmas gift for 2012...however, started too late)
2. Quilted t-shirt tote for middle sis
3. Quilted t-shirt tote for little sis
4. Upcycled baby clothes quilt for me (I'm not sure how big this one will be - I would like this to fit on a Cal King...ha! we'll see)
5. Christmas placemats for me
6. Quilted t-shirt tote for me
7. Upcycled old clothes lap quilt for me
8. Christmas placemats (possibly comissioned)
9. Personalized Quilted Christmas tree shaped ornaments - 11 total
10. Halloween themed quilted pillow case (2x)
11. Thanksgiving themed quilted pillow case (2x)
12. Christmas themed quilted pillow cases (2x)
13. Upcycled mommy and daddy t-shirts made into a baby quilt for brand new baby
14. Do yo-yo quilts count as a "quilt" in this category? I've always wanted to make a large project using yo-yos. I've only made little hair clippies and embellished baby shoes, little bags, etc. with yo-yos.

I'm excited to get started!

Okay, I need to motivate myself.  My oldest in-progress quilt? I think it's over 10 years old.  Ummm... I've been wracking my brain trying to remember working on that quilt last, and... I think it's far older than I thought.  I bought the fabric from a fabric shop in Leavenworth, and the last time I was there was when I was in college?  And I know I started it right away, because I was able to go back and get more fabric when I ran out (I bought the fabric, but the momentum was lost...).  So... I graduated in 1996... so... yeah.  I think it's older than I thought it was.

I know for certain all of my WIP quilts are older than 2006, because I have not worked on them since we've lived in this house.

1. Flowery quilt, WIP, from some ancient local quilt shop challenge, circa mid-1990's
2. Fishbowl quilt, WIP, from about 2003? 2004?
3. Bugs in a jar quilt, WIP, also from about 2003? 2004?
4. Strawberry quilt, WIP, again, 2003, 2004-ish?
5. Penguin quilt (have supplies, have not started)
6. Royals T-shirt quilt (have supplies, have not started)
7. Penguin quilt II (have supplies, have not started)

Those are the definite ones.  Other possibilities:

T-shirt quilt for friend
I think I have a quilted wall hanging pattern around I may have started?
Using up the other rainbow patchwork strips from the giant rainbow skirt project
Other fishbowl and bugs in a jar quilts (I have tons of fabric!)
Scrappy quilt (lots and lots of scraps)

Hopefully this will motivate me to get it done... these have been sitting WAY too long... I'm so bad at actually finishing quilts, though!

That would be the town!  I only went to two years of High School there, my Junior High/other High School years were in Ft Riley/Junction City (Kansas).  Cheesy

I visited the "Second Friendliest Yarn Shop in the Universe" in Salina... two years ago?  Most memorable yarn shop I've been to...

Very small world, indeed!
