Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

Making is definitely more fun!

I just read about a quilter who doesn't have a stash.  She buys, makes and moves on.  Can you imagine the discipline that takes?

Wow... I cannot fathom.

But i very very rarely buy matching or coordinating fabrics.  At heart im a scrappy quilter. A billion patterns and colours inspire me.

On the epic shop hop last week there were blocks available at each shop to make the batik quilt. My response when asked if i wanted theblocks or a kit was, no thanks... I dont like being told what to do Smiley

Sometimes, im not so popular with the quilt police.  Grin

I am also a scrappy quilt maker...I am not a huge fan of "matched" fabrics, so I guess I am old school in that I like making my own combos from my stash...so I have to have a bit of everything, right?

I have large cuts (half yard, yard) in big rubbermaid bins (no organization to them).  I got 2 rolling cart things from IKEA that have wire mesh bins that slide out - I'm slowly sorting scraps by color into there.  I tried by size, but that wasn't working well for me.  I half fat quarters hanging out together.  I've also been trying to use those 12x12 scrapbook boxes to keep fabrics/items for specific projects together.  I also have multiple totebags around - much to my husband's annoyance since I hang them on the back of one of the chairs in the kitchen

My yardage is in open wire cubby type things, organized loosely by color, with one cubby for polka dots and one cubby for solids. My fat quarters are folded in two large basket type things. I got a lot more progress made on scraps last night but am still probably not even a quarter of the way through my scrap management!

I've got new fabric! Woot! We did some sweet shop hopping during the guild meetup.

There's a lot more (a possibly embarrassing amount) on my blog if you care to see what I was up to during the meetup and the rest of the fabric.
