Pinokeeo, that's a very beautiful ornament. I like it a lot.

It mus thave been very stressful to put the last touches. I would have been scared to ruin it at the last moment!

More hats to share  Smiley
That takes me up to 10 girl hats and I'm now rummaging through my stash for more boyish colours to make 10 boy hats. I know some girls will choose a "boy" hat and some boys will choose a "girl" hat and that's cool as long as they are warm  Grin I have a 6 yr old friend who loves the same bright colours as me but his mum insists on neutral or "manly" colours when she's buying but she doesn't stop him from wearing the bright stuff I send him  Grin

Finished two more  Grin

Hoooow boy, here we go in the yarnies adventure. More cutie pie hats. I really don't know how you talented people just kick these out like nothing. These hats would take me a year to build! And probably would not actually fit anything! I love your colors. And a really neat swirl pattern in your stitching. I know what to look for in quality...I just can't do it! Cheesy *Sigh* One day. I keep studying things.

The problem is always the same with carving, knowing when to quit. Cheesy  I really enjoy this type of stuff, especially when it works well.  No stress here, except when I break something, which almost never happens anymore.  I'm getting better at this.

LOL I've seen people wearing lampshades as hats before but this was the first time I've ever seen a lampshade wearing an apron! Too funny! Looks like you did your usual great job on both aprons!

I am making apple/pear infused Brandy for my birthday
1000ml of brandy
1 Fuji apple
2 honey crisp apples
1 small pear

Peeled the apples and sliced everything very thin and put it in a large jar with a seal with the brandy.
I will shake it 3-4 times a day til my birthday in 18 days and rebottle 750ml as is in a lovely bottle I have and the rest I will make into a sweet liquor with brown sugar caramel bar sauce.

Brown Sugar Caramel bar sauce:

In a large sauce pan put 1.5 cups dark brown sugar and melt over low heat until totally smooth and slightly darkened
Bring 2 cups water to just under a boil and slowly add to the melted sugar, stirring the entire time until the sugar is melted.
Allow to cool and pour into a clean jar.

Add the caramel syrup to infused brandy to taste.

Ooooo, your liqueur sounds and looks delicious.  I remember many years ago when I made orange flavored liqueur by suspending an orange over the brandy in a gallon jar.  Nice job.

My next project is complete.  Well, sort of.  This is a practice piece and has only 16 links in it.  The next one of these that I will do will have 48 links in it and I'm going to put it on my Christmas tree, probably not until next year.

My carved chain.  This is all one continuous piece of wood.

Most of this was done with a small detail carving knife and a flat chisel, but I did some smoothing with a dremel.

I am always fascinated when I see carvings that are done in one piece like that...wowie!  Will you stain it or leave it as is?

lol kbrison...thanks for pointing out the lampshade mannequin...I howled!  The apron is very lovely and quite suited for the holidays...

k_star...you are a hat making machine...I love the divinity hat for its ease and beauty...it is my go-to pattern.
