Ooooo.  Love, love, love the handmade paper and the elephant is cute, too.  I also love the embroidered purse.  Major sewing skills there.

Gorgeous work on the macaroon purse, Always! Love that bird, but can't imagine how you made something so small and perfect by basically using only one hand.

Thanks! It forced me to go very very slow so the stitches were done with much more care and precision with my right hand (I am left handed!)...I felt like I was stitching backwards...the tiny bird is cut from a fabric motif...I ironed heat bond to the back so that the edges would not fray and it would stick...the fabric is linen, which was probably not the best choice for hand sewing since it frays and was not easy to stitch through because of the roughness...ha ha...I might need to think about doing more "other hand" projects...

I have an appointment on August 26th to make sure that the thumb/wrist is healed and ok to use...I have been bad and not following doctor orders 100%, but I am so impatient...mostly to be able to knit again!!!!

I haven't posted in a while but I have been crafting! We're getting ready for vacation so the last minute crafting has begun!

Tote bags for the kids to take in the car. I will fill them with stuff for the 9 hour car trip!

I loved this fabric at Ikea - as soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for this project:

And this is the finished project:

Just popping in- not a member of this craftalong (50 projects intimidates me  Smiley )

alwaysinmyroom: lovely macaroon! I'm so glad you made one and let me know! I'm not sure if you did this, but it makes life a lot simpler and gives more storage room if you glue the button backs to the inside instead of sewing them the that tutorial says to. I also found it to be easier to not gather the zipper edges, just fold and sew (it helps with being able to get in that little space in the back towards the end.) I hope you're not scared off! I'll bet it'll be only half as hard once your poor wrist heels. I can't believe you did it at all with a cast! Wow!

Thanks, Calabaza!

Those are adorable bags--and such talented boys!

Also love the license plate sign!

Tex, good to see you online again! Love that Ikea fabric. Wish we had an Ikea store in Tulsa. I like the boys being a part of the crafting process and that it makes each bag quick to identify.

Your skills are great!  I love the teriffic crocheting, the colors, and the fact that you can make that bag.  I crochet and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to piece that bag together, even with the pattern!  Roll Eyes
