SheepBlue, you have such a creative eye for design! Love the texture you developed on Bunny's wall art and laughed when I saw the "Moisturize me" patch on the Dr. Who bag. I had forgotten that episode, but immediately knew the context when I saw the patch. Very well done!

Two more summertime dresses done!

Madelyn in a Hello Kitty dress. (She refused to take off her panda shirt, so please imagine it with a plain white t under it. Cheesy )

Katelyn in the purple gingham dress I made from the same pattern as the owl/cupcake dress from earlier.

I bake under stress and have now started sewing under stress... which may be a better option. Wink

Your girls are lucky to have a talented seamstress for a mom!  The pattern is very versatile and looks great with or without a t-shirt under it...I definitely think sewing while something is baking in the oven is an option you need to explore when stressed... Grin

I agree with all of that! Where do you find the time to do all of this and swap on Craftster, too? I know I didn't have that much time or energy when my girls were that age.

Yes--for the craftalong challenge and for the 10th anniversary--you can enter one project in each category but not the same project in multiple categories..you will get 3 chances to enter for each project that is entered in the 10th anniversary challenges...I hope someone here wins the overall category as well...that would be awesome!!

JULY-AUG 2013 Challenge Entry- Charity
I sewed 150 liners for one of my favorite charities: http://www.daysforgirls.org/
It is a charity that supplies reusable menstrual kits to girls in third world countries.  Frequently girls in these countries have to drop out of school once their period begins-due to lack of supplies.  I have sewn many items for the group before but it has always been with colored flannel.  The flannel I had is white so I needed to dye it.  (The girls hand wash the items and hang them out to dry and colored flannel liners hide stains and look more like just a normal washcloth making it less taboo for them to be drying on the line)  I have not dyed much in the past so I experimented with a few types- Dylon chemical dye, Kool-Aid and All natural blueberry juice leftover from making muffins.

And Another Challenge entry: For  updating my home ...used sizzix dies for the flowers. I also hand threw the pottery vase in cone 10 clay.

I also made some "Summer blocks" from wood, paper and mod podge

here is a picture of my almost updated shelf display:  (I want to repaint the angel garland one of these days)  The great 4th of July artwork was made by my daughter.
