always, that pincushion is so beautiful!  And I'm so in love with that shawl!!

I got more stuff done this weekend!  Yay!

A tutu for baby bean!

And some baby headbands for my niece, my cousin's baby, and my baby.  I still have a bunch more to make of these.  The three less wider headband parts are ones that I bought and then resized to make smaller for a baby and the wider ones are from a spool that I sewed together.  I can probably get like 4 baby headbands out of one spool that I bought for $1.50 each.  Woot!  Each headband is about 12-13" long.

I also started working on Baby Bean's monster bonnet yesterday.  Its all sewed together, and today I will had horns to the top and get it all fixed up.  I'm already pretty proud of it, just because I'm not a great sewer and following patterns totally baffles my brain.  I have had to seam rip quite a few times already.  Despite all the mistakes and its imperfection, I love it.  ^_^

Lovely tutu and headbands Jillybeans  Grin
What is that called that you made the headbands from? I've searched online for all variations of stretch/elastic/trim/headbands and can only find ready made ones and would love to make some for the little girls in the family.

Kookaloo, the thinner bands are kid headbands that I bought on sale (at I think Fred Meyer's) and resized down with the sewing machine so they would fit a baby head.  The thicker stuff I bought on a spool at Hobby Lobby.  They have a bunch of different colors.  They are normally $2.99, but they were 50% off this weekend, since all the spool ribbon was on sale.  I couldn't find it on their website, though.

K-star--goggle elastic...it comes in all colors now...sometimes pre-packages with a yard or so in each one; other times on spools...they are adorable on girls of all ages!

I used to make them with fabric and elastic until they came out with colored and cute elastics...you just need to make sure not to make them to snug or the baby is going to fuss...the package I showed from JoAnn's is for diaper covers, and is more like a binding but they have the flat kind, too, in packages...I spend way to much time there to know this kind of stuff.. Thanks for that  Grin I will have to see what I can find over here.

I have a couple of things to share now my Common Ground package has arrived.

There's a new baby girl in our extended family so this evening I made this little hat and headband.Yes, it IS summer in England but the temps have dropped back down again and it's been windy & rainy too.
