Ok lovelies !!!! guess what...................................
My partner in the detective round just recieved my parcel so I can show you all what ive been making !!!!!!
The craft box I shall pop in a new topic too as Im quite proud of it !!
So my partner is a lovely lady who has a son with autism and as I work with adults and children on the autistic spectrum I just knew I was going to have fun with textures and weights and colour.
So first off for her lovely son I made a book holder that he can hang on the back of the door (you may see a familiar thread with all the bits for him as they are sea related, as he is rather into fish at the moment ! )

In the bottom treasure chest pocket I hid a big shiny golden charm..

But in all the other pockets I hid this lot Wink

SOme amiguri knitted octupi and sea horse

and some bean weighted flying fish with long ribbon tails - just throw them and watch them fly !

I also made him a fish which, was knitted then felted in the machine. I stuffed full of old socks (dont worry I washed them) which made it really heavy as kids with autism love weighted toys. I have to say I will be making another of these as my littlest sobbed when I packed it up !

So then, onto the lovely mum. She had written that she would like a stand alone case in which to store her knitting needles and crochet hooks. Im also well aware that the autistic logo is puzzle pieces and so I created this cuboid collapsable craft box in which she can store absolutely everything !!! It makes for a quick tidy away (which is essential when you have sneaky little people fingers in your life.)

Feedback always appreciated Smiley

P_E_S_T--You certainly made some lovely items for her son!!  The felted fish is my favorite, but I am very intrigued by the flying fish as well (you should post those on the Toys Board as I have not seen these before!)...

The seahorses and octopi are knitted?  wow  They look great!

And the knitting basket is really clever...is it your own design?  I would be interested in this as I am trying to corral my knitting tools and yarn! Cheesy

Im thinking I might pop up a tutorial for the box when I have time.
And the flying fish are so easy so yes I shall pop them up too Smiley
I also make flying birds, and just simple slying bean bags, I have to say that they are my childrens most consistantly favourite toys.

Toys that children can be actively involved and use their imaginations are still the best, IMO!

P_E_S_T

As someone who both has a mild obsession with aquatic creatures and recreating them, (in the process of crocheting a blue lobster) I love all of the 'toys' you have made. May I say I am even a bit jealous of the 'flying fish'?

Great job. Smiley

Love those flying fish. They look like something my son would love. Can't wait to see a more detailed post on them.
