We moved my mom into our home three weeks ago so I have been spending a lot of time sitting with her...since she is asleep most of the time, I decided to keep busy by knitting or hand sewing.  I made this sock in about two days of sitting with her in the evening.  I have started the second one 



Also, I made fabric coiled bowls and vintage kimono zippered pouches for the Sweat Shop Swap...I made 5 of each :

always- great sock! I can't knit myself, so I cherish my hand knit socks. I also love those fabric bowls. been meaning to try those someday.

Always, I love the fabric bowls and the kimono pouches! And I'm in awe of your sockitude, all of you who make socks.

The tie flowers are fun, I can just see one pinned to a hat! And the valentines are cute and clever.

I think I need to shop for some old ties!  they make very interesting flowers!

smashu: I have a couple vinyl toys sitting around, but I'm having trouble thinking of ideas for them. What did you use to create yours?

I used something to prime the base of the toy so the paint would stick, an acrylic medium that I can't remember the exact name of at them moment. Then acrylic paint for the base and hair, black sharpies to draw on the details.

I made a purse for a really cool fundraiser spearheaded by an amazing 4-year-old to raise money for the endangered Asian elephants! Her mom is on C-ster and I'm sure many of you know her!

I'm waiting on a swap partner to posts pics, then I'll have one thing to post for February.  Okay, I do have a few others things in the works I need to finish up. I've had a slow crafting year thus far, but that will change!
