Yoopidou, yes, I recently bought a hand-crank binding machine. At my local "close outs" store I was watching the price go down... And down... And down... I finally bought it when it got down to 20% of its original price. I love a great bargain!

alwaysinmyroom-Oh yes, if you find your pattern for the quickest/easiest pair of socks please let me know.  Cheesy  It will be motivation to try a pair.  As I think they would make lovely xmas gifts for my family this year.  Roughly how long is a sock project?  Just for a basic regular ol' sock?

katara-What a cute jar.  We did a jar last year sorta like that.  But it was for us to write down things that we were thankful for and made us happy.  We added to it all year, then on New Years eve we read all the papers.  It was fun and a great reminder to be thankful for our blessings.

For me, it takes about two days to do one sock... Cheesy  I have tried the two socks at a time and it was so confusing to me that it took four times as long! Cheesy  I know indigo_roses and Kookaloo also make socks...they are probably way faster than I am!

Finished a long-overdue WIP!

I started making this tie purse for a coworker in summer 2011. I was teaching a sewing class and the room I was working in had a whole bin full of fancy ties. I really wanted to do something with them so I came up with a quick and easy purse pattern. I made one for myself - I'll post a pic when I find it again, the colors were lovely - and got a bunch of requests for more! I found ties in the colors of each Hogwarts House to make this one for my friend.

I laid the ties next to each other, alternating directions, and stitched them together from the edge of the tip to the point where they started to narrow. I cut off the extra lengths of the two middle ties and stitched the raw edges down, leaving the full lengths on either end to tie together into an adjustable strap. I traced the general shape of the main purse part onto a lining fabric, cut it out, stitched them together and turned them right sides out, and stitched up the gap in the lining. Finished with some top stitching around the outer edge to make it look nicer, and done!

I sent my friend a message out of the blue asking for her new address, I hope she enjoys the surprise!  Cheesy
Feels so good to finally get that out of my project pile!!

(This is my first time posting pics, please let me know if they're way too huge!)

Four more projects done for 2013.  I keep rotating the hat picture, but when its flipped the right way it ends up stretched out.  So, its sideways and not streched out.

A minion hat and a slouch hat.

A panda bath mit.  A toy car.
